FSM Telecom wishes to inform all our valued customers that the outage of the Chuuk-Pohnpei Submarine Cable System is caused by FSMT Cable Corporation/OAE’s scheduled system maintenance on the cable.  Although FSMT Cable Corp has implemented an alternative, temporary connectivity path to mitigate any inconvenience caused during this temporary suspension of the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable system, FSM Telecom is doing our best to provide additional backup to help relieve the challenges we are facing since the outage.  FSMT Cable Corporation’s scheduled maintenance began Wednesday June 25^th at 8:30 Chuuk time and they anticipate the system to return to normal operations on July 6^th.

Updated status of the maintenance will be broadcasted to the public upon receiving notifications from FSMT Cable Corporation/OAE.

 

 

 

> 7/3/2025: CABLE OUTAGE UPDATE:

FSMTC is currently experiencing link issues with FSMT Cable Corp. (OAE), that have dropped all mobile services in Chuuk. We are diligently working on restoring mobile services as quickly as possible, as well as blocking 4G services in Chuuk to try to restore services due to the limited bandwidth and unstable link provided by FSMT Cable Corp (OAE).

Again we truly apologize for the inconveniences caused since the FSMT Cable Corp (OAE) fiber cut and we sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding.

 

> 7/4/2025: CABLE OUTAGE UPDATE:

FSMTC has been informed by FSMT Cable Corp. (OAE) that the estimated completion date for the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable system maintenance will be July 9th or 10th at the latest. This means the Chuuk cable outage will be extended another 3-4 days longer than the original date provided of July 6th. Assuming there are no delaying issues at sea for the cable ship, the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable should resume normal operations by July 10th.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this and thank you for your patience as we continue to provide services with limited capacity at this time. FSMTC will continue to ensure that essential services/businesses remain uninterrupted as much as possible throughout the outage period.

 

> 7/8/2025: CABLE OUTAGE UPDATE:

FSMTC has been informed by FSMT Cable Corp. (OAE) that maintenance work is on schedule for July 10th completion date. Chuuk-Pohnpei cable should resume normal operations by then. FSMTC will update immediately should there be any changes and will continue to ensure that essential services/businesses remain uninterrupted as much as possible throughout the outage period.

> 7/10/2025: CABLE OUTAGE UPDATE:

To all our valued customers, FSMT Cable Corp (OAE) has informed FSMTC that maintenance of the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable system is complete. We have tested all services now on the Chuuk-Pohnpei cable and will continue testing in the next few days. Services should be back to normal.
