DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Operator Supervisor, the Operator is primarily responsible for handling various types of routed telephone calls including but not limited to domestic and international calls, switch board, and directory assistance using computer-based keyboard, and CRT terminal. The Operator will answer Directory Assistance for contracted services meeting time and quality objectives.
The Employee will perform the following essential functions Answer domestic and international customer calls and establish connections in an efficient manner. Answer local and directory assistance calls, obtain details necessary for search, consult computer or web based database and provide information to customers. Answer directory assistance calls for contracted client, obtain details necessary for search, consult computer database and provide information to customers. Answer crosscheck calls for contracted client, obtain phone number to conduct search, consult computer database and provide listing name and/or address information to customers. Answer National Directory Assistance (NDA) calls for contracted client, obtain details necessary for search, consult web based database and provide information to customers. Meet time objectives set by the clients and quality objectives set by management; meet answer time and quality objectives for call center contracted services. Refer customer complaints or emergency calls to appropriate internal or external party. Coordinate and cooperate with other operating and administrative groups as required to accommodate service demands and requirements. Keep detailed record of such emergencies. Cross-train other staff in various aspects of this position to prepare them to fill in as needed. Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must have at least two years of college education with referable
Emphasis in communications. Must be proficient in reading, writing, and understanding of the English language, so as to comprehend, apply and pass on spoken and written instructions. Must have good typing skills, and the ability to work with public on a daily basis.
